  • Spring Has Arrived!!

We went to our local nursery and brought home some colorful flowers to plant in the planter boxes on our deck.  I think the “Purple Lady” from up the street is rubbing off on me because 3/4 of the flowers we brought home were in the purple family.  I do like it though.  These were called Parfait Sachet.

I even found some purple daisies.  I just love purple and green together; it looks so vibrant and majestic.  I wanted to get a dozen pots of these flowers, but at $6 a pot I opted for only five.  I hope they behave like Cannas and get thicker and spread out and invade more space each year.  I’d love for the whole corner flower bed to be covered in these pretty purple blooms.

  • Wow… your season is sure ahead of ours, although it was pretty today. With two freezes this week and more cold predicted, I’m going to be slow about putting out any bedding plants until well after Easter. I love the flowers you choose. Do you know what they are? I don’t think I know what either of them are. Are they perrenials or annuals?

  • Well, now I read “Parfait Sachet” which I’ve never heard of. “Purple daisy” I had read, but thought it was a generic designation. Shasta daisies they are not. Gerber, maybe? The foliage doesn’t look right for that. The color looks like a purple cone flower, but the foliage is wrong for coneflowers, too. Oh, well. They are lovely !

  • As I sit here in my rain coat shivering, I realize I’m jealous.

  • Oh wonderful!

I think our tulips will open at easter…….
