Look What I Came Home to Tonight !
Photo by Chris Duffy . . . click on picture (then F11) to see larger image. . . of course I don’t know why you’d want to do that.
I went out to get the mail and low and behold, part of my sidewalk was missing, a third of the street was missing, and there was this big pile of pipes in my yard. This is the FOURTH time our street has been torn up since we’ve lived in this house. GRRRRRRRRRR. But at least this time they’re not doing it piece meal. They have the entire length of the street torn up rather than just “hot spots”. I guess they figure it’s better to redo the whole street rather than coming out every six months or so and fixing another break. Last year they redid a whole street three blocks North of us, and if I remember correctly it took them about 5 or 6 weeks. I hate to think of our street being torn up that long. There will be DUST, DUST and more DUST. Oh, well, it’s not like I can do anything about it.

Do you think they are going to widen the street or just resurface it? At least you have a side walk. I want a sidewalk. I don’t know why they don’t make them everywhere. I have to walk Annie in the street every morning.
Hmmmmm…. there’s a street in our town that was open 8 times in a few months, due to the fact that 8 different companies had their pipes and cables there….
We’ve had it here too. What bothered me was, that there were days that no worker was seen….
Yeah, unless it rains, then there will be mud, mud, mud!
They’re not widening our street just fixing aging water and sewer lines.
That is really frustrating, isn’t it? My parents, who live in a very old part of Ft. Worth, recently had their street torn up for the same thing; replacing old pipes. The project took several months and they had to live with that mess along with the portable toilet that sat at the end of the driveway the entire time. What can you do?
gotta do it every so often, as those old pipes just don’t last forever……
sorry…

Oh, I’d just DIE if they moved a porta potty in our yard. I won’t even think about that.
