  • Another chance to guess . . .

Only this time I don't know the answer.  This flower (I believe it's a rose of some sort) is in the back yard of a house that we're looking at and I don't think I've ever seen one before.  Does anybody know what it's called?

  • Here's another one to take a guess on . . .

Add comments as to what you think this is, and I'll reveal it's identity in a couple days.

  • Did you guess it?

The picture in the previous "blog" is of frost covered Spanish Moss.

  • Can you guess what this is?

Let me know what you think this is and I'll let everybody know what it is in a day or two.

  • I've Loved Horses Forever

As a child I used to drive my dad crazy.  When we'd be driving in the country and I'd see a horse, or even worse, a whole bunch of horses, I'd pound on his shoulders as he drove and I'd holler, "Horsey, horsey, horsey".  And at school I used to draw horses on the cardboard backs of my friends' writing tablets. I couldn't get enough of horses, although about the only time I ever got to ride one was when we'd go on vacation and we'd stop at a dude ranch. But my imagination went wild each time I got on top a horse.  For an hour or so I was a real live cowgirl.

So when we were at Texas A&M University last year and I saw the horse sculptures in front of the George Bush Library I just couldn't resist.   They're depicted here jumping over pieces of the crumbled Berlin Wall.

  • Tulips, tulips and more tulips

Well, at least I had tulips to look at at work even though mine at home are becoming fewer and fewer each year.  There is this lovely median separating the north bound from the south bound lanes on the street dividing our building's parking lot from the parking garage.  Right now there are pansies planted in it, but for a couple weeks in April we got to look at these georgous red tulips.

  • Pick a Chair, Any Chair

Don't ask me why, because I don't know, but I have a thing about chairs.  I took this shot on one of my husband's business trips to Orlando.  I thought the bright red chairs looked inviting, but it was extremely hot that day and all the tables were in the sun so I just took a picture of them instead.

I really like roses, especially when they're still in the "not fully open" stages.  There was a small rose garden outside one of the shops on this same boardwalk and I thought this rose particularly perfect.

  • Ya, Ya !!

My good friend and next door neighbor asked me if I wanted to go to a movie with her this afternoon.  We saw "The Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood".   It's a strange movie.  I liked it, but I did get lost in a couple places.  Darlene filled me in when I got confused, because she had already read the book.  I'd never ever heard of the book let alone read it, so she promised to let me borrow it.

I will tell you that the movie is kind of "dark" in places.  It's not at all what I had expected, which was a light comedy.  It was sort of a study of a disfunctional family.

At any rate I'm extremely glad I didn't drag my husband to see it, because he wouldn't have liked it at all and then it would be twice as hard to convince him to go to see a movie the next time.
