  • Allow me to introduce myself . . .

Well, you have to admit I HAVE been gone a LONG time.  But finally the house move is behind us and the office move is now completed as well.  It was a lot of hard work and it makes me tired just to think about it, but I'm to a point now where I can actually start doing OTHER things besides packing, moving and unpacking.  What makes me even happier is that I can find stuff . . I know where it is.

I haven't blogged in such a long time. I'm a little rusty, but here goes...

Two weeks ago I went with my husband on one of his business trips . . to Colorado Springs.  Sometimes when I go to these meetings, I just stay in the hotel room and read my book, but this time several of the other ladies and I decided to go see the Seven Falls.  It's not very far at all from the hotel we were staying at and it was a beautiful clear day, so off we went.

It's quite a hike just to make it up the 224 steps to the top of the falls, but once you reach the top you can then take one of a couple different trails.  Look carefully.  When you click on the picture and then the F11 key, you'll see that those tiny specks  on the stairs are actually people climbing the stairway to the top.

We spent the entire afternoon climbing and hiking and taking pictures. The picture above was at the top of the falls where the hiking trails begin.  It was a hard climb, but it was worth it for the beautiful scenery and a very enjoyable afternoon with two friends.

What a fabulous view we had from the top.  And the air was so clean and thankfully there was a very nice breeze at the top.  All in all, a wonderful day.

  • Air, AIR, WONDERFUL AIR CONDITIONING

I forgot to tell y'all that we FINALLY have air conditioning. (Thunderous applause) The warranty company finally sent out a different company to work on it and this guy fixed it on his first try.  It is SOOOOOOOOO nice to sleep without an industrial fan blowing.  It had managed only to keep the hot air moving.

  • Oh, Happy Day !!!

We've been SOOOOOO busy, what with moving into the house, unpacking, the air conditioner not working, the hot water heater not working, the doorbell not working and getting the TV cable guy out to the house that I've not had the time to concentrate on getting our email and the wireless internet connection working again.  It all worked before we moved, but not since then.  Frankly I had bigger fish to fry.  But finally my husband could stand it no longer and wanted to know WHEN he was going to be able to get his mail from home.

So with fear in my heart I fired up my Presario and my laptop computer and called Doug, one of the Systems Engineers from where I work. He had said last week that if I was still having trouble with my computer to give him a jingle and he'd try to fix it over the phone with me.  What a nice young man!!  I frankly didn't hold out much hope that we'd actually be able to solve my email and access to internet problems over the phone.  I mean, after all, Doug doesn't work for ATTBI, so why should I think he'd know exactly what to do to solve my problem.  But I do know he's quite intelligent.  I once watched him restore the Rubix Cube in my office in 6 minutes.  We spent 28 minutes on the phone (out of his personal time) but he did it . . he fixed my internet settings over the phone.

    Thanks, Doug!!  You're my HERO!

Oh, Doug . . . do you know anything about air conditioners?
