  • Oh, Happy Day !!!

We’ve been SOOOOOO busy, what with moving into the house, unpacking, the air conditioner not working, the hot water heater not working, the doorbell not working and getting the TV cable guy out to the house that I’ve not had the time to concentrate on getting our email and the wireless internet connection working again.  It all worked before we moved, but not since then.  Frankly I had bigger fish to fry.  But finally my husband could stand it no longer and wanted to know WHEN he was going to be able to get his mail from home.

So with fear in my heart I fired up my Presario and my laptop computer and called Doug, one of the Systems Engineers from where I work. He had said last week that if I was still having trouble with my computer to give him a jingle and he’d try to fix it over the phone with me.  What a nice young man!!  I frankly didn’t hold out much hope that we’d actually be able to solve my email and access to internet problems over the phone.  I mean, after all, Doug doesn’t work for ATTBI, so why should I think he’d know exactly what to do to solve my problem.  But I do know he’s quite intelligent.  I once watched him restore the Rubix Cube in my office in 6 minutes.  We spent 28 minutes on the phone (out of his personal time) but he did it . . he fixed my internet settings over the phone.

    Thanks, Doug!!  You’re my HERO!

Oh, Doug . . . do you know anything about air conditioners?

  • I love it!

Glad that some things are getting better!

  • Happy day, Indeed, and I’m glad you have Doug so willing to help. I hope he sees this xanga blog.

Now I hope tonight you sleep in a house that has AC. I can’t imagine Texas in late August without air conditioning. How have you managed these last couple of weeks?

    Isn’t moving fun

  • I’ve managed by wearing shorts and a sleeveless top in the house . . . much to Mike’s chagrin, but even he had to admit it was the ONLY acceptable attire for the occasion.  Naked was NOT an option.

  • …hey, this is a good news post. The only better news would be to read one of your wonderful post. Don’t forget us after you’re settled in. MuSe
