  • A Wonderful Respite. . .

We had a wonderful four day respite in between moving our house and me moving our offices at work.  Well, actually I had a four day respit. . . my husband was not resting by any stretch of the imagination.  We were in Colorado for his annual board meeting and it's pretty safe to say he was more than a little stressed.  We stayed at a marvelous hotel called The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.   For some reason the board members never seem to want to change venues. . . we keep going back year after year.

And no wonder.  The hotel property is nestled at the foot of the mountains and has a lake complete with ducks, swans and a bridge.

There's plenty of wildlife in the area as well.  One evening as I was walking around the lake I came across these deer resting in the shrubbery in front of one of the hotel buildings.  They had wandered off the nearby golf course greens.

We even saw a racoon up on an outdoor cafe table helping himself to a few morsels left behind by hotel guests.  The waiters didn't seem in any big hurry to shooo him away, but unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me at the time.  I would have loved to have gotten a shot of that.

It was a very good board meeting for my husband and a very welcome time of relaxation for me.  My batteries were recharged and I came back ready to tackle the office move.
