It’s the weirdest thing!
That nasty worm virus over the week end disrupted our LANS at work. We can get to the Internet, and we can get and send e-mails, but we can’t print anything to the network printers. SO . . . I’m taking a few minutes to post a BLOG, since what I need to do this morning entails printing out hard copies of presentations that I’ve been working on for my boss.
The picture above was taken in a town named Warwick in England. We had gone to a wonderful old castle there and then went walking around through the streets of the town. I like old things . . old architecture, old graveyards, antique furniture, etc. It always amazes me that as much as I love old things, I don’t want antique furniture in my house. I love to look at it, and touch it, and wonder what life must have been like for the people who used to use it, but I don’t ever even THINK about buying a piece for my home. I wonder why?
Now, about my HOME computer situation. I’m so close to being back on line . . . just not quite there yet. The manager of the systems engineers here at work took my computer home with him and his son (yes, his son) did a “restore” on it and managed to keep all my data safe. I took it back home and now I need to get the Linksys Wireless thing working again, reload all my software, install my printer and scanner in the correct sequence so as not to replicate the problem that started this whole mess in the first place.
I was on the phone with AT&TBI for over an hour Saturday (being passed up the chain to higher levels of support) only to find out in the end, that they want me to take my computer apart so that I can tell them what Brand and model number my NIC card is. I wouldn’t know a NIC card if it walked up and introduced itself to me, so I’m again hoping that my systems engineer friends at work (or their children) can get me up and running again. But that means we go at this at their convenience . . . and rightly so. I’m not complaining . . I’ve just never been know for my abundance of patience.

I hope they get on the internet at home soon… SOON. Great picture, Chris.
…what a delightful surprise to read a post from YOU. Glad you popped-in, it reassures me you haven’t been abducted by aliens.
