  • Transforming a Patch of Weeds

This is what we see out of our breakfast room window.  It had been a couple of yucca plants and a bunch of weeds, but we’re finally getting around to doing something about the yard.  Up until this time we’ve concentrated solely on the inside of the house.  Now that the kitchen is done we have some energy to give to the yard and this part of the yard is first since it’s what we see from the breakfast room.  My husband knows that I don’t consider a house a “home” until I have peony bushes, so he bought me five bushes and planted them in this section of the yard. Then we added tulips in between each bush.

Fortunately there were some nice roses bushes growing on the fence here too, and they really add some nice color.  There were a couple of daffodils that came up earlier too, but there were only two of them and they only lasted a couple days.  It will be interesting to see what else emerges from our mystery garden.

  • I love what you’ve done to your weed patch.

  • I love the picture of the fence and the roses. My Peonie bushes are about to bloom. They are covered with buds! I can’t wait until they bloom. I have a white one and a pink one. The neat thing about them is that they were some that an elderly friend gave me from her bushes(she has since passed away). She swore by the fact that if you transplant in August, they will bloom the next spring……….mine did!

  • …thought the first pic was a peony tree. What could be nicer than climbing roses on a fence. I love peonies also – they make such beautiful bouquets. MuSe

  • This is a beautiful photo. Makes me want to take brush in hand. I staked my peonies today. They are just about to bloom. They always droop to the ground but I staked them this time.

  • Looks some work but it would be worth it!  @-}-}–
