It was a very bad day at work today, so I decided to post a peaceful picture to sooth my nerves. A place that I would gladly have traded my day at the office for. At first when we had our last big round of layoffs at work I was relieved that I didn’t get the axe, or at least relieved that my pay check wasn’t going to get the axe. But now I’m rethinking that. Perhaps it would have been better to be laid off than to survive the cut. With fewer workers it means a lot more work for all of us who are still there and it’s beginning to take it’s toll on everyone. Nerves are raw and people are short with each other and the hours are wearing me down.
I’m so looking forward to taking some vacation time with my sister in early October and I really don’t care if the office folds or not while I’m gone. But October seems so very far away. . . six looooong weeks. But, perhaps I’ll feel better about the whole situation after a good night’s sleep.

What a beautiful picture – and what a great thing: a vacation to look forward to! Sorry work is such a drag on you right now. I’m looking forward to seeing what you and your sister take pictures of on your vacation.
