  • House in Chipping Campden, England . . . . . . . photo and enhancement by Chris Duffy

This house was on the way to the Church in Chipping Campden where I was sure I’d find some lovely old tomb stones, but then that’ll be another blog.  Can you see the fellow in the lower right corner looking back at the camera?  That’s my husband and I’m sure he was saying something about how I probably already had enough photos and that I should hurry up.  Funny, but I have a lot of pictures with him a half block ahead of me.

This time our trip to England was in early April instead of late September like last time, and although that’s a little too early for most of the flowers, we still managed to see quite a few flowers and shrubs with colorful new growth, like this photenia.  Sorry, but I couldn’t find photenia in the dictionary to ascertain the correct spelling  . . . which brings up a pet peeve of mine . . . how are you supposed to look something up in the dictionary if you don’t know how to spell it?

  • Red Tip Photinia … you were very close. Here is a tip: I sometimes go to Google and put in the spelling I think it might be and do a search. In this case I entered your spelling. Google returned a few pages (where they used the incorrect spelling) and at the top asked, “Did you mean photinia?”  :fun:

  • So glad that Alice had that tip for us all. I think that there is actually a dictionary whose title reads something like Diciionary for People Who Can’t Spell. And surely there is a Dictionary For Dummies! There is one for everything else, I think. Again…..a lovely picture!

  • The homes are all marvelous, I wouldnt be able to choose if I had the opportunity.  Great picture.  :sunny:

  • I don’t care how it’s spelled, you and your photos knock me out.  I just love seeing them.

Thanks so much for sharing them.
