  • Lost Maples State Park in Texas Hill Country

Another view of the creek we crossed time and time again in the Lost Maples State Park. Although it looks peaceful enough, there were signs warning hikers that if it started raining they should seek higher ground immediately.  Evidently this area is quite susceptable to flash flooding, and I sure wouldn’t want to be on one of these rough hikes when the water started RUSHING through there.

Yesterday, after the kids left we got all the sheets washed and changed in the guest bedrooms, and finished up the outside lights and placed just a few Christmas decorations around the house.  More to follow . . . much more.  Then we rested the remainder of the day, and we needed it too.  At one point Mike was actually snoring in his recliner.

  • I don’t know how you manage to make it through the holidays with all that you do. I’m glad you took some time to rest. Your picture is almost identical to one I posted a while ago. It’s a great shot. Can’t wait to see you Thursday for Candy days.

  • Oh my goodness, Alice.  That’s amazing.  I never saw that blog.  I went to your Xanga tonight and went backwards till I found the picture you’re talking about.  It IS almost the same, isn’t it. . . . but then, we were traveling the same trail.  Just goes to show that I should be reading your blogs every day, even if I have to back up and read several when I’ve been really busy for several days.

  • What a darlilng grand daughter.  Our one and only just had her 14th birthday.  She was a jewel when she was little and actually still is but she shines in a differant way.  Lovely family photo also.

Mixed up kind of comment, sorry about that but the rocks above, I love rocks and those are just super.  They amaze me wherever I see formations.

    Regards,

  • I love that picture of your adorable little granddaughter and the rolling pin. The word is right………GRAND!
