I was naughty today. I got a double-dip waffle ice cream cone when I went to Braum's to get juice, eggs and milk for the week. It was a flavor called Peanut Butter Cup and it was DELICIOUS! Thanks, Alice. I used two of my Braum's gift certificates.
I got all of my errands run today except for looking at mattresses. I guess we can do that tomorrow or Monday even, since Monday is a company holiday for me. Several companies are having huge mattress sales this week end, and Heaven knows we NEED a new one. Ours is so old that it has two deep grooves where we sleep at night. Has anyone had any experience with those TempurPedic mattresses? I'd sure like to get some feedback from someone who has actually slept on one for a year or so.
Well, Mike and I are going for a walk now. Gotta keep those old hearts working you know.

I wish we could walk, but with two inches of ice covering everything, it probably wouldn't be a very good idea. Have fun!
I would be very cautious about such a mattress. I have one of their pillows and after a year and a half it is no different than buying a foam one. Completely lost it's shape! Expensive as it was it should of lasted much longer... like my lifetime!
I just love your photography. Beautiful. I'm thinking about hitting Braum's as I type this....
I felt guilty after getting you the Braums gift certificates, knowing that you are tying to get into shape too. I have some certificates, also -- a Christmas gift, too. Everytime I pass Braums (on my way home from Curves) I am tempted. I guess we could always use them for milk, etc -- but that's no fun!
hello..I am a girl from Hong Kong. My name is Christine too! I often visit your xanga and I love your photos! They are so beautiful. You know, Hong Kong is such a busy city and I can never see those views in your photos. Hope u won't mind me, a stranger, to visit your xanga. Nice to meet you... :)
Beautiful pic! We've been wondering about the Tempur-pedic mattresses as well (we have that same groove thing going on our present mattress) I'll be interested in reading what people say. My parents bought an air bed (one of those sleep number ones) and are very happy with it.
I think I need anew mattress also Ihave a little cup in mine. One of these days---- Enjoy your day off , you deserve it . Love you . Mom :heartbeat: :heartbeat:
I have been contemplating one of those mattresses as well. I have used the pillow for years and it goes everywhere with me. It is the only thing that saves my neck. My physical therapists did however tell me that I needed to put the flat side out instead of the curved....that improved things even more. The pillows are expensive(as are the mattresses) but you can't put a price tag on comfort......and mine last me for 4 or 5 years before I have to replace it. I have also considered the Sleep Number mattress as well, but I don't need a mattress with dual settings. I will also be interested in what other comments you get.
we got one with a built in pad...was very great at first but now it has Knight and Nanny grooves
Guess we did not turn the mattress enough...lots of work for old folks
That is another beautiful gate picture. I like the stone wall in it, too. :goodjob: I tried one of those pillows, but my neck felt worse instead of better after trying it for a few nights. I don't know about the mattress.
Thanks for all the feed back. We compromised. We got a Simmons Beauty Rest with Pillow Top. It's a HARD HARD mattress, but has the soft pillow top on top of that HARD mattress. Mike likes a hard mattress and the older I get the softer I want.
I bought myself a pillow-top mattress over 2 years ago, and love it. My bedroom is tiny, and turning the queen-sized mattress every so often is quite a feat!
I had considered the Tempur-pedic, too. But since I didn't know enough about it, didn't want to take the chance of not liking it, considering the price!
