  • Last night I took my camera along when my husband and I took our evening walk, because I really wanted to get a picture of this striking purple iris I'd seen the night before.  I thought it was beautiful.  Unfortunately, when I went to take the picture there was no media card in my camera.  So I made sure the card was in there tonight as we headed out.  I don't think I've ever seen one like this before.  And I'm not even a fan of irises normally, but maybe this one found a soft spot in my heart because it's purple.  Georgeous, isn't it!

  • Yes it is, somehow it does not look like an iris.Almost tropical looking, but really, really georgeous. :goodjob: :heartbeat:Mom

  • Those are very lovely.  I think I'm only a fan of irises because of the memories of them in our garden when I was growing up, and in my grandparent's gardens as well... I was always partial to the purple ones, myself.  Those are lovely, striped like that.  I've never seen any that were striped, before.

  • I am not a fan of iris either.
    These I like.

I have loads of purpley blue ones my hubby brought home from a family reunion about 5 years ago. They spread like mad, great to give away to friends.
My hubby's grandpa started the Illinois Farmer Boys which eventually turned into 4-H.
The whole idea was to improve farming and keep kids on the farm...

Anyway, yeah, these iris are quite pretty.

  • Wow...I am becoming a fan of iris' as I have a variety in my new world of flowers!

  • Very unusual, and very lovely.  :sunny:

  • That first one looks like it was painted! Very beautiful.
