  • French Holly Hocks at Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City

Alice and I took mom to Will Rogers Park today to see the Rose Gardens.  It was a chance for mom to get outside and There was also an Iris Garden which I think Alice enjoyed even more than the Rose Gardens.  We were even lucky enough that there was also an iris show today as well at the park.  Alice took lots of notes so that when the park has their iris sale in July she already knows what she wants to buy.

And as for ME, I found a flower that I've just got to have for my own back yard.  It's the French Holly Hocks pictured above, which were just growing off the beaten path at the park, not in a formal flower bed at all.  And Alice actually has some seeds that she's giving me.  I'm so excited.

And finally, to BLB . . . see, I can blog even if I'm not at home.

  • Those look like some my Grandmother gave me a few years ago. She called them wild hollyhocks because they just came up on their own.
Oh sure you could paint, and you have a great artist sister to teach you. :sunny:

  • Those French Holly Hocks are beautiful!  I'm glad that you were able to enjoy the day with Alice and your mother!  :)

  • LOL ... not a doubt in my mind you 'could' blog if you had time. But I was late getting back so didn't know it.

That hollyhock leaf looks almost like a geranimun's leaf.
