French Holly Hocks at Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City

Alice and I took mom to Will Rogers Park today to see the Rose Gardens.  It was a chance for mom to get outside and There was also an Iris Garden which I think Alice enjoyed even more than the Rose Gardens.  We were even lucky enough that there was also an iris show today as well at the park.  Alice took lots of notes so that when the park has their iris sale in July she already knows what she wants to buy. 

And as for ME, I found a flower that I've just got to have for my own back yard.  It's the French Holly Hocks pictured above, which were just growing off the beaten path at the park, not in a formal flower bed at all.  And Alice actually has some seeds that she's giving me.  I'm so excited. 

And finally, to BLB . . . see, I can blog even if I'm not at home.   

Have any of you seen God's billboards?  I love em!  We have them here in Texas, and I'm betting it's not just a local thing.  There are any number of messages, and I'm sure I haven't seen them all.

They're Here!

We were gone just one day, and when we got home we already had FIVE beautiful lilies out front.  That's 5 down and 144 to go.  Yes, I counted the remaining buds.  They are so pretty, I wish they'd stay longer.  I'll have lovely lilies for several weeks and then . . . POOF, they'll be gone.  I was going to purchase some Star Gazer lilies for a dinner we're having this Thursday evening, but I believe I'll be using some from my own driveway instead.
