  • Pretty as a Daisy


    I thought immediately of Alice when I saw these daisies, because daisies are one of her favorite flowers.  I believe her wedding bouquet was made up of daisies.  Actually, maybe this picture isn't really of a daisy but some sort of cone flower, but I tend to think of them all as being in the daisy family.  


    And below is a shot of the same daisies from a little farther distance.



    As you can see, they really aren't daisies after all.  They are metal sculptures of the humble flower, and they are located on one of the main drags in downtown Colorado Springs.  I couldn't resist taking a shot just for Alice.

  • Funny I saw the first picture and thought, 'those look like metal or plastic'.   I love public art, though we have a weird red one downtown right now. A gift from some artist in Mexico.
