  • I know what you're thinking.  You're thinking it took me a whole week to recover from having our granddaughter stay with us for a week.. . and that's why I haven't posted since July the 1st.  Really, that's only half true.  It WAS a lot more exhausting than I had anticipated.  By the time I got her in bed each evening (by 8:45) I was totally spent.  It had been my intention to work a couple hours each evening on a diary or scrap book  after getting her down for the night, but that proved to be too optimistic. I had hoped to send the scrap book home with her.   I took plenty of pictures each day and it was all I could do each evening to dump them onto the computer.  And by the 5th day of her visit I still hadn't even started on her book, so I decided I'd work on it AFTER she went home and just mail it to her instead.  It took me one entire afternoon and 3 evenings after work to get it done, but I think it was well worth the effort.  So I guess in a way, it did take me nearly a week to get back to normal after Trin's visit.

We had such a wonderful time with her and I think she enjoyed it too.  She says she did. My husband and I tried to make sure that her days were filled with fun and interesting things to do and see.  And it's all in the scrap book for her to read again and again if she'd like to.

Here's her scrap book open to the pictures of the day we made sugar cookies for her grandpa.  I think I can honestly say that this "Grandparent" thing is wonderful !!

The picture at the beginning of the post is a close up of the Calico Cat Tee Shirt I appliqued for Trin today. I hope she likes it.

  • The t-shirt is adorable, and know Trin will like it and the scrapbook---even more since she knows her Gramma made it specially for her!

I know how those grands can wear you out.  They can keep you hopping trying to keep them entertained.  But what fun, and what wonderful memories for ALL of you!

  •  :sunny: :sunny: :goodjob:SO CUTE! :heartbeat:

  • I know Trin is going to love her book. You are a great grandmother.

  • Actually, I should have said terrific grandmother.

  • Yes, I like the sound of "terrific grandmother" a lot better than great grandmother.

  • The T shirt applique is adorable (of course I do love anything involving cats!) Trin is very cute! My grandsons & I went to the zool & a movie this weekend while my daugher & son in law worked on their house.

  • Awww  sounds like you all had a great time together.  She will cherish the scrapbook forever, I'm sure!   :heartbeat:

  • I believe  I am the GREAT grandma.I hope I will get to see the grand mother book. Love Mom :heartbeat:

  • Mom, Alice will be bringing it to your house on Thursday on a CD.

  • The cat applique T-shirt is so cute.  At first, I thought that perhaps it was the cover of the photo album.  Your granddaughter is sooo precious!  I'm glad that you had fun with her!  :sunny:

  • I wish I had the creativity for scrapbooking! I always see other people's and they look so nice! Sounds like you need a rest after your visit with your granddaughter!

  • how lovely of you!
    scrapbook idea sounds perfect...

  • What a wonderful idea to make a scrap book of your grand daughter's visit. She will treasure it. My sister (ChristinaLM) and I are not talented in the scrapbooking area of crafts. I enjoy seeing them, I just don't have the eye to do them!

And yes, the boat should run now that we have the rope out of the engine. It is a fun thing, our old boat and camping is always fun. I am hoping to go back to Ouray and actually take some pictures.

  • We don't have any grandchildren in our near future. By the time we get them, if they stay with us, if we get them into bed by noon, we'll probably be totally exhausted.

We did just spend three days with some friends of ours and their children and seven grand children. It was really, really fun.

    Mike
