  • Another one of the things that Trin and I did while she was here was we visited the Heritage Farm and Museum.  It's one of the oldest houses in Plano and is still a working farm (on a very modest scale).  She loved looking at all the animals.  I thought it was a petting zoo, but not so.  But that didn't seem to bother Trin.  She was happy to poke her little finger through the fence and let the chickens peck at it.

There was an old one room school house on the property too and Trin had to try out the school desks and especially the slate board and chalk. She thought that was nifty.

But this old car was even more exciting to her.  She was under the rope and up in the drivers seat before I even noticed she wasn't by my side.  I was taking a picture of a scare crow and Trin can move pretty quickly when she wants to.  I should have gotten her down immediately, but I just had to snap a picture before I made her get down.

  • Trin certainly had fun by Gramma's!!  Little ones can get away from us so quickly.  My oldest son disappeared at a Sears store when he was 4.  I panicked, and headed to the customer service.  On the way I saw him, dressed in his little suit, sitting up on a riding lawn mower.  He looked up and said "Hi, Mom, where have you been"?  He wasn't the least bit worried.

  • Hi Chris, I just read your last 3 posts at the same time plus a comment you made on mine. So I'm responding to all ov them here.  You're right 5 hours to my daughters is not bad!  I get a book on CD or tapes & am there before I know it, but my son lives in NYC so I only go out there once a year & then I have to fly.

I'm glad you had so much fun with Trin.  I'm sure she loved it!  Once when I was making cookies with my daughter (when she was about 5) & some of her friends we left the oatmeal out of oatmeal cookies! realized it after the first batch was in the oven & guestimated how much to put in to the remainder so it wasn't a total waste!

Did you know I went to a 1 room school? Hickory Grove on south 36th St.  For my first 8 years of school.  One room, eight grades, one teacher.  The most students we had was 24, the least 8.

There was just an article in our paper about petting zoos being a source of ecoli bacteria.  Kids get it on their hands, then put their hand in their mouth.  With all the potential hazards our folks didn't know about & still we survived!

  • I am really enjoying the pictures of  Trin.  She is such a doll!  Thank goodness she didn't get that far away from you.  The picture of her is the car is so cute! :goodjob:

  • I love that one of Trin on the tractor.  :heartbeat:
