My sister Alice (on the left) and me (on the right) many years ago.
My sister retired several years ago and now I'm retiring this year. BOY!! I had no idea there was so much paper work to do to retire and so many many decisions to make. It boggles the mind. I guess I just thought you told your boss you'd had enough and you picked out a date for you to quit coming to work while your boss picked out a gold watch for you. WRONG!
It did make me feel good when one of the several Sales Managers that I support came into my office and in a real serious tone said that he'd taken a poll and that the results were in and that they weren't going to let me retire. I really think they'll miss me and I know I'll miss an awful lot of them, but I've been working since I was 15 and I'm 61 now . . . that's 46 years and guess what ? . . . I'm tired. At least I'm tired of the rat race.

You all are/were so cute....I know you'll love being retired!
What a precious picture to have!
I hope you have a wonderful retirement, and I'm glad your present co-workers appreciate you!
PLEASE dont let them change your mind :heartbeat: :heartbeat:Mom
Don't worry, mom. I'm not about to change my mind. There are just a lot of decisions to make about the different funds and different options. And as far as the other part goes . . . it's just nice every one in a while to find out that at least some of the people don't think the office can function without me. Of course we know that's not true, but it's nice to hear it anyway.
The picture of Alice and you is darling! I am looking forward to retirement so much. I have 4 more years to go, though. :sunny:
Cute picture and your granddaughter is so adorable!
You retire and enjoy it, me I'm just tired.
:sunny: My mother highly recommends retirement, now she brings the officers (she was head clerk for a highway patrol office) cookies every now and again. She says it's nice to not have to do anything but socialize when she goes in. Once she ties up the loose ends on my grandmother's estate she will be able to (finally) enjoy her retirement properly.
:goodjob: Ain't we just as cute as a bug's ear? I'm sooooo glad you finally get to retire.
Such a sweet photo of you and alice. Pretty girls indeed.
Congratulations on your retirement - you deserve it.
What a blessing retirement is. I know you won't vegitate like some who retire. I bet you have a long list of things you've been dying to do for ages.

I had to smile at the picture of you and Alice. You two were so cute! I certainly hope that you enjoy your retirement as much as my hubby has.....you've earned it!
