  • These were a gift from our next door neighbors.  They said that since I was retiring I simply MUST have a pair of blue bunny slippers.  They are pretty comfy and I’m sure they’ll keep my feet warm this winter, although I feel a little silly in them.  They are not the easiest things to walk in either.  I’ve never seemed to be able to get the hang of keeping on shoes (or slippers) that don’t have backs to them.  I’ve even seen lots of tennis shoes now that don’t backs.  How do you do it?  Is there some secret?

  • Now that’s the perfect retirement picture! I’ve never liked shoes without backs either. I know they are very popular, but I don’t know how people walk in them.

  • How cute!! I didn’t know blue bunny slippers were the traditional retirement gift.  You learn something new every day!

  • Practice practice practice

  • I think they are fetching…I do hope you are enjoying retirement.

  • It is all in the “attitude”! You have to own those slippers! Walk tall and be proud! (ROFL)

  • those are awesome slippers….I wonder where your neighbors found them. I haven’t seen any slippers lately that aren’t characters on a TV show…

  • Awesome slippers! I think those backless tennis shoes are ugly, but, then, that’s just me. Mike

  • Those are so cute!  You’re going to have to shuffle your feet instead of picking them up to keep them on while walking.

  • They’re cute…but oddly enough they spend more time in our closets on our shoe racks than on our feet, because they are practically un-walkable. I know what you mean though about the backless shoes. My sister started following the trend and wearing flip-flops to school everyday and I was curious as to whether or not they were really all that comfortable. I tried it out and it was BAD! My High School is made up of 6 buildings and about a gazillion stairs. Let me put it this way… stairs + flip-flops = It was quite frustrating, walking up the stairs everyday surrounded by crowds of students (our schools population is over 3,000 students with only TWO grade-levels!!) having to stop every five steps to make an attempt to get my shoes back on. I suppose the lesson is… flip-flops are altogether impossible and backless slippers are for keeping your feet warm when your lying or sitting on the couch (or at your computer posting a xanga entry!:p) … but they aren’t intended to go far in… (Personally I’d prefer a nice, soft, warm pair of socks (with cute animals/patterns on them!)to slippers)
