  • Tomorrow my daughter-in-law will drive to Dallas and we'll transfer everything over into my car and then I'll drive from Dallas to Oklahoma City where we're having Candy Days this year.  It'll be good to all be together again and up to our elbows in chocolate, although we've all determined that we're going to do less sampling this year.  Last year I figured it up and we had made a total of 64 pounds of candy.  We'll make a little less this year, because I'm retired now and won't be taking any candy to the office, nor to Mike's office and I won't be having our annual Christmas party this year either and that took a goodly amount.  But Candy Days is a good tradition and a lot of fun.

  • I remember this from last year.  What a wonderful tradition.  I do all the baking and candy-making by myself, but sure wish I had someone to do it with.  It is a LOT of work.  For our 12 grands, I give them cash and a goodie bag for Christmas---filled with cookies and candies.  One batch of cookies or candy doesn't stretch far between about 16 bags (I make extra for company (kids) that come during the holidays.)

    Have fun!!

  • My what a lot of good looking candy.:goodjob: I always say I'm not going to do any sampling and wind up just having to taste one more, have to make sure it tastes right don't you know. That is a fun tradition to have. Be careful on your drive to Okla.City. Have a blessed trip and God keep you safe & warm.  HUGS

  • Have a great time with your candy days....it is a wonderful tradition.  Wishing you peace for the Holidays!

  • Sample some for me.:)

  • Have a nice time with your candy days. I've not been home long enough to make any candy, except one quick batch of fudge. Every year the kids decorate a gingerbread house, and we've not had time to do that either. Today is the last day of school before break and my mom is coming for a two week visit. Perhaps between now and Christmas we'll do some. Yours looks wonderful, ours will be on a much much smaller scale.

Merry Christmas Christine. I'll be thinking of you over the holidays.
