Here's what the bathroom wall looks like on Day 2 of the repair process. Benny has to come back either tonight or tomorrow and put another coat of mud on. Then he'll need to smooth it out and texture it. We're one step closer now.

OOPS!! I noticed a small crack in the sheet rock on the wall of the master bathroom and had a good friend of mine come over to see how bad it was and if he could fix it. He pulled and tugged at the crack to see just how much of a job it would be to fix it. The hole in the wall is the result of all his tugging and pulling. But not to worry, he said he could come over after work tomorrow evening and fix it. He figures it will take three nights in all to fix it completely. And maybe even just two, because surely I could PAINT it. How hard could that be?

Well, I took the week end off and went down to San Antonio to celebrate my son's birthday. Actually his birthday is today . . . Valentine's Day, but we celebrated over the week end since he had to work on his actual birthday. It makes you realize just how old you are when your "baby" turns 36 years old. His wife, his mother-in-law and I all went together and got him a new guitar. . . a Joe Satrioni one. Evidently that's like driving a Ford and then getting a Jaguar. I don't know a thing about the differences in guitars, so I'll just have to take his word for it. He THOUGHT he was getting an effects pedal, and boy was he pleasantly surprised.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SON.

Another Quincy house. That's some chimney, huh?
I'm pooped. I've been working out in the front AND back yards pruning and tidying up a bit. Since I'm going to have the house on the market I thought it in my best interest to have the yard as attractive as possible, especially the front yard. Yard work is not my strong suite, and was always Mike's job. I'm not all that good at it, but at least it does look a little better than it did. And as an added bonus, I bet I sleep well tonight.

A house somewhere in Quincy, Ill.
I'm trying to think if I actually accomplished anything today. I deposited a refund check from my health care provider (Yes, really!!) and went to see a movie called "The End of The Spear". I'm really glad I went to see it, although I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's about some missionaries who get killed in the Amazon Jungles and the son coming back to live with them many years later. I enjoyed it and wanted to see it because it's based on a true story.
Let's see, what else did I get done?? I mailed a couple things and paid a couple bills, but other than that I think I was not too productive today. That's OK, because I got a lot accomplished over the long week end (Friday thru Tuesday morning) in Oklahoma City.
