  • Before Alice went home after helping me with my garage sale, she dug up some of the irises she had given me last July for my birthday.  She's going to stick them in her garden until they can be transplanted yet again to my new garden after my house is built.  When she dug up the white Mesmerizer rhizomes there was a bud on one of them, so we cut it off and put it in the only thing I could find as a bud vase.  I've already packed all my bud vases you see.

The latest on the sale of the house:  After I sent back the response that I would fix 17 of the 21 items on the inspection list (the other 4 are not detramental to the living conditions of the house) they sent back another reply that they still want 3 of the other 4 items fixed. I can't repeat what my contractor said about their request, but suffice it to say we were not amused.  Last night I told my realtor to tell them that I'd already been more than generous in offering to fix 17 out of 21 items on their list, and that I simply would not do more.  Then my brother in law said that it would be a shame for the whole deal to go south because of 3 minor items . . . . so this morning I called and told my realtor to tell the buzzards that I'd give them a check for $300 to take care of the final three items.  Now we wait again.  If they're going to back out it will be today.  It's their last day to back out without forfeiting their $5K earnest money.

  • Good plan. I have done that with every house we have lived in.... taken bulbs.
I have usually done it while the house was on the market though...

I am really glad things are moving along smoothly.
You are being so brave. Take care of yourself.

  • The only irises that I have were dug from my Mom's ....shortly after the garage sale.  A mug might have been perfect vase for Mother.  I am melancholy all of a sudden.

  • Regulations such as these do not exist in Italy, if you decide to purchase you do any fixing or renovating yourself. Like it or leave it. What a nerve!

Good luck, so lucky to have Alice by your side.

  • What a sucky thing for them to do. They are just looking for a reason to get out of the deal. I'm praying that things go through. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the 'coffe table.' Can you order a replacement square of glass?

Have a blessed week & God keep you safe, healthy & happy. HUGS

  •  I pray that is the end of it. I guess sometime we have to give, or break. still praying. :heartbeat::heartbeat::heartbeat:Mom

  • They certainly are picky!  It sounds like they are just looking for excuses not to close.  I do hope that the sale goes through.

  • I wish I'd taken some of the bulbs from the yard in the house we rented when we first moved here. All along the back fence were irises that desperately needed thinning, I often wish I'd thought to dig a few up.

People can sure be picky! If they were big things that needed fixing it's one thing, but a few small things is just being nitpicky. I hope that the sale goes through and you can put this behind you.
