I feel like today was almost a total waste. I planned on getting my Oklahoma driver's license today, but alas, I did NOT. I went to get my hair done at 9:00 this morning so that the picture on my driver's license would look good. After all, they last a long time and a lot of people will see it over time, so I wanted it to look good. But, the lady who was supposed to fix my hair was not there; she didn't come in today, so I had to reschedule for later today. . . like 1:00 pm. As after I got done there I went to the Oklahoma Tag/License office near my apartment and waited in line. When I finally got to the window and told the young man that I needed to get an Oklahoma driver's license, he said that since I a Texas driver's license, I could not get my Oklahoma license at that office. I'd have to drive to Edmond, OK to take my test.
Soooooo, I drove to Edmond and went to the tag office there. As soon as I got in line, I had the presence of mind enough to ask the other people in line if indeed I was in the line to get my driver's license. Nope, that would be a different office, a couple blocks away. I went to the other office and entered and hunted and hunted, but could find no signs saying where the driver's license office was. I wandered around until I came across a live human being and asked them which way to go to get to that office. Come to find out they moved that office and you could not enter THROUGH the building, you had to go outside and around to the back of the building to get there. . . which I did. I took a number and sat down and waited for an hour and a half. At 4:45 when they were 2 numbers away from calling my number, the man stood up and announced, "Folks, we're now closed. If we haven't called your number you should try coming back on Monday". ARRRRRRRGH!!!
But, remember I said I thought the day was ALMOST a total waste. I got to talking to a young girl who was also waiting to get her license, and she showed me how to do several things on my new cell phone that I've been trying to figure out for over a week now. So, that was a good thing.

What a DAY! That story sounds like a skit from Saturday Night Live--just how many things could go wrong?! Have they resurrected that "You're on Candid Camera" show?
I love that you found something positive in it. Even if it was a stretch!

Do you mind I visit your xanga?
One ray of :sunny: in an otherwise :wha: day.

I hope by now you have been sucessful in manuvering the DMV to get your license changed over. Always frustrating to have to deal with bureaucracy. Hope things are going better for you now.
Have a blessed week & God keep you safe, healthy & happy. HUGS
I had my hair cut just before I had my drivers license picture taken and it's still a bad picture (my youngest son looked at it the other day and said "In that picture you look just like grandma"...oh well....) I hope you've been able to get your license after the run around you had to go through.
RYC. I know what you mean about the video clips and such. I have some of my dad talking and it's so wonderful to hear his voice. His twin (identical) is still living and my uncle's voice is very similar, same pattern to his speech it's always wonderful (and painful too) to visit my uncle because he is half of dad. :heartbeat:
