I have a Cosmos bloom!!!
One of my cosmos finally bloomed. I went for my walk this morning and did not notice it as I left the apartment, but when I came back and approached my front door . . . VOILA! There it was. I have many other little buds too, so soon I should have a bunch of new color.

Some how I didn't realize you were posting here again. I sub'd to your new house blog, so I need to check how I have this one listed.
My cosmos are about to bloom, buds are covering them. But I thought they were not going to make it because the Phlox just laid down over them ...and I wouldn't cut the phlox back until they quick blooming. The may have struggled, but they must be pretty strong.
Yay! I love the anticipation of blooming flowers. The problem for me now is that I just can't weed anymore because it sets off the arthritis in my thumbs and wrists.........bummer! I'm trying to decide this summer just what I'm going to do with my perennial garden. I suppose that I will just have to hire someone next spring(or maybe this fall) to just dig it all up and put in some kind of landscaping stones or gravel and then just do some containers. I already have an old wash tub that I put Wave Petunias in. I like really unusual containers so I'll be keeping my eye out for some new ones.....preferrably something I won't have to bend over to tend. I'm also thinking of moving my Iris away from my mailbox area where they are now.......there are several trees that have taken root in the bed and I will kill the Iris if I use Roundup on the trees unless I take the Iris out now. Do you know if I can dig them up and not replant the tubers until fall or will I need to do it now? Hey....I didn't mean to write an entry on your blog.....lol
I enjoyed that movie too. Hooray for new blooms. My cosmos are in bud too. They aren't as big as they usually are. The heat is getting to them too.
Have a blessed week & God keep you safe, healthy & happy. HUGS
Now that you have a cosmos bloom, you'll have cosmos as long as you want them. They reseed very easily.
