  • This lovely bouquet of Gloriosa Daisies are from Alice's garden.  We had such a thunder storm Friday night that Saturday she had to cut a bunch of flowers that were all laying down in her garden.  She gave me my choice of 3 different bouquets and this is the one I chose. Wasn't that sweet of her!!

    I'm excited, because work should start tomorrow on the foundation of my house.  And it's about time too. (Oh, please let it be true)

  • Not to be a pessimist, but Ken was in construction for 45 yrs., and the one thing he learned was you expect a contractor when you see him---not when he says he will be there.  Ken hated that, and made sure he was always where he said he would be at the time he was supposed to be there.  So many contractors around here were so irresponsible.  Never thinking that people are sitting and waiting for them.  At least give a call and let them know!!

    Sorry, but that was a real pet peeve with us through all the years.  Back then there were not cell phones, though, and that made it harder.  For a few years we had a CB, and if Ken was running late, he would call on it and have me call the customer.  Am sure you will run into this at some stage of your building---unless your contractor has excellent sub-contractors.  I surely hope so.

    But the good things outweigh the bad.  So have fun watching your new home go up.

  • I hope so too. :heartbeat::heartbeat::heartbeat:Mom

  • That must have been quite a storm--3 inches! Lovely bouquet. Fingers crossed that they start! It will seem like such a long time waiting for your house, but it won't be long when you are in it that the waiting seems like a blur... :)

  • :sunny::fun:Oh they are gorgeous! and the colors go so well with your decor there:) hugs to you and Alice* and I hope so too:) !hugs..love, Lee:heartbeat:

  • What is it about the contractor's mentality? They go by a different timetable than anyone else and only care about time restrictions when it costs them money. I do hope that you will see that first burst of progress!
