  • Alice and I were supposed to go to a surprise birthday party today, but the birthday girl wasn't feeling well and canceled her lunch date with another friend.  What could we do? We couldn't say "Hey, how bad do you really feel, because we're having a party for you".  I printed out some note cards as her gift, and this is one of the six flowers I chose for her dozen cards.  I'll give them to her on Tuesday when we have our regular meeting.

  • What a great idea for a gift, Chris!    Do you use card stock or plain copy paper?   And do you make your own envelopes?     I love the rose.   Is it from your garden or Alice's?

  • Love the card and what a thoughtful gift. I'm sure your friend will be thrilled over them. I had to go back and catch up on all your posts I've missed. I know your Mom is so happy to have you and Alice to play scrabble with. The Mexican Bird of Paradise bush is just beautiful. They had them here at Lowe's and I wanted one so bad but they won't survive outside in our zone which is 6. I could have put one in a pot to bring inside but alas I've run out of room in the sunroom for anymore big plants. I hope you can grow one there, maybe if it was  protected and mulched really well.
