  • Just call me Farmer Duffy.  We had a fairly warm day today so Alice came down and helped me get my bulbs planted in the front flower beds before the really harsh winter weather comes upon us.  I figure we had slightly over 250 bulbs and it took both of us over 2 and a half hours to get them all planted.  Boy!!! Am I tired and sore, and I shutter to think how tired I'd be if Alice hadn't helped me. I believe she planted twice as many as I got in the ground.  But it will all be worth it in the spring when we're greeted by all these lovely flowers popping their heads up out of the soil.   But after today, I don't believe I'll expend that much energy in planting tulips because they do not come back a second year here in Oklahoma. Just too much work for one season.

  • I have sure enjoyed the glimpses of OK life you have posted lately.

  • I didn't realize there are so many varieties of daffodils. Can't wait to see the spring pics--it's going to be spectacular!

  • Oh dear, I am so guilty now.  I have 2 bags of bulbs to plant.  If today is sunny when I get home, I'm going to do it....maybe.

  • :good-job: I can't wait to see the Replete daffies. I don't believe I've ever seen any. But then, I might have seen them from afar and took them for something else. I mean, who expects a pink daffodil?

  • I had lots of Angelique tulips  when I lived in Ill. I love their color. You are so right re'their short life in Oklahoma. I can hardly wait to see yours.:love::love::love: Mom

  • I love daffodils but I agree they are to much trouble to plant when you have to do it every year. All my hyacinths seem to come back and multiply every year. Wish the daffodils would.

Praying 2007 will be the greatest year ever & blessed with happpiness beyond your wildest dreams.

Have a blessed weekend & God keep you safe, healthy & happy.  HUGS

  • The tulip is simply gorgeous. I wish I could grow flowers like that. I cannot wait till yours start to bloom and you post pictures!
