It was a lovely day today but I'm also glad it's over. You see I sang a solo in church this morning and I'm soooooo glad that's over and done with. I've been kind of nervous for a couple weeks just thinking about it's approaching time. I didn't flub up so that's a plus.
I spent the afternoon cleaning up my garage after the garage sale and doing some watering and weeding out in the yard.
I don't know if you can see him very well, but this evening I almost stepped on this snake out in my back yard. It scared me half to death, but I believe he was even more afraid of me than I was of him. It wasn't so much that I was afraid of him, it just startled me something awful when I saw something move as my foot took a step. I ran into the house and chased him around the yard before I could get a picture of him.

Good for you singing solo! I never did that but was always the narrator or read passages at school since my teachers thought my speaking voice was nice. Talk about nerve wracking.
Looks like you found a rat snake. We found one about 5 feet long at my friend's in North Edmond.
So 2 strikes for more rural life up there, no city water and sewerage etc and snakes.....ick.
I use to sing in church alot but then had so many surgeries that entailed putting a tube down my throat and now can't sing at all after a few verses. I miss it so much....the being able to sing, not so much the being able to sing in public but just to sing and enjoy for my own pleasure.
Beautiful sunset. That snake doesn't look like a garter snake. Any idea what it was?
Glad you can still sing. As I aged my gastric reflux has made my solo days over.
 Glad to hear the singing went well and the snake was spared. Soun ds like a good day all round. Have a lovely week.
Looks like a bull snake to me. They can get really big, but are not poisoness and eat mice and birds
Your brother would have been proud of you and Alice's reaction to the snake.:love:Mom
