LOTS OF BLOOMS TO REPORT
There seems to be a lot of activity in the back yard flower beds to report on. This is one of the Native Lilies that Alice gave me for my yard. Three of them all bloomed today in 3 different locations in the yard.
The thumbnails above are of more bloomin things in my yard today. They are: two different shots of Sparkling Orange, Home Run Roses with Stella deOra DayLily, Coral Bells and a very dark orange cosmos that Alice and I are wanting to save seeds from. That last shot is not really about anything blooming, but rather the "pad" that I made for the Utility guys when they come to do maintenance in or on the three ugly utility "thingies" planted just to the left of the pad. The ugly "thingies" were supposed to be IN my yard, but I had them build my fence so that the utilities were just barely outside my fence. I didn't want to have to look at them all the time, and besides, I didn't want the utility workers to ever have occasion to be tromping around inside my flower gardens.

Your first picture looks like something my Mamma called day lilies. They are the only plant I have from her gardens and I am spreading them out to other parts of my yard. You and Alice have been an encouragement to me to do some transplanting of these types. The next time I see lily bulbs on sale, I'll try some more!
:sunny:Beautiful blooms. I think it wise of you to provide a maintenance area, Smart thinking!1:love::love::love:Mom
Blooming marvellous Chris!!
:sunny: Oh so lovely! My how your garden grows:what-fun: I guess it runs in the family:smile: so happy for you ** have a great weekend...hugs..Lee
Hope the maintenance area is big enough for their big feet.
When we got the new air conditioner I had them leave the concrete slab from the old one and it fits perfectly for them to stand on to service the new one.
The first lily is by now called a roadside lily in this area. There were so many planted in past years that they are just running rampant now. This place had several areas of them but we have cut it down to one large space. They just hang around forever before they die back and can be cut and the weeds just get beyond belief. I have a bed to be dug up from up on the hill that is full of day lily bulbs given us by a friend that specializes in them. I have the Amish coming to weed etc. this month and maybe they can dig them up then but think I'd better wait until fall. Got 4 more stella de ora lilies yesterday and Wil finally got his pond plants for our small yard pond.
Love 'em. Wish we could get our utilities behind a fence. Had to settle for a hedge.
Mike
