It's a start. I've decorated the front porch of my house with a wreath and 6 cute Christmas Carolers. The last 2 years I didn't decorate a bit. You see, my late husband absolutely LOVED Christmas and we decorated to the hilt, both inside and out. We had lights outlining the house, the driveway, draped on the bushes and wrapped around the trees. We used to say that the electric company knew precisely when our Christmas lights went up . . . they also knew that they'd make a profit that year because of them. The rule of thumb inside the house was "if it has a flat surface, it gets decorated". That first Christmas after Mike died, I couldn't bring myself to get any of the decorations out, and then last year I was still in the throws of moving into my new house when Christmas rolled around, so again I didn't decorate. But this year I'm going to decorate a little bit and see if that doesn't help my holiday spirits.

Your carollers are adorable! The kids put their little tree up this past weekend. Not sure when we will put the big tree and the few outdoors lights that we have up. Have fun in San Antonio.
RYC even better - they replaced the missing screw in my old glasses too, so now I have a dedicated back up pair for my sunglasses.
I wanted you to see this mini. I just love it.
Your carolers look good, Chris. I did my decorating in about 5 minutes.
We did decorating this year just for us. We neither one are so gung-ho on it as when we were younger but did so little last year and were totally depressed all during the season that I just told Wil we were doing it for us this year whether anyone else ever saw it or not. I love the Carolers.
Wonderful!
Your entry looks great, Chris. None for us this year. Being sick just does nothing for the decorating bug. Maybe next year. Now that the kids are gone and we are usually alone for Christmas, I really don't see going to the bother of decorations that I have to take down after the holidays.

My hubby started on the outdoors lights today.....I need to start with the indoors...maybe this weekend....hopefully. Spent all day shoppin'...grandson had his annual appt. with his hand surgeon out of town..so I took advantage of him not being here and went shopping out of town....lordy I am too old to shop all day...I admit it!!...LOL..I am pooped!!
Good for you Chris. Mike will be smiling and pointing the way from his heavenly spot.
I think Mike must be smiling right now.
May this year have it's Blessings.
It's beautiful and I expect all of your decorations are done up nicely. We decorate a lot less than we used to. Various reasons but we enjoy it all to the utmost.
Have wonderful holidays,
I can't believe that Mike has been gone 2 years. I know this is a difficult time of year, but know that I will be praying for you to continue to receive the joy and peace that Christmas brings. Your entrance looks super. I've got my 6th tree up, but only 4 decorated....but you are right...every flat surface has some decoration. My hubby on the other hand is asking...."aren't you about finished?".
Your Christmas Carolers and wreath look great! We are going to be out of town for Christmas this year, so my husband and I opted not to put up a Christmas tree. I will probably be ready to decorate again next year.
RYC: Yes, both vehicles were damaged. Like your accident, she was very apologetic at the time of the accident, but her insurance company called me last Friday and said, "I understand that you were both backing out at the same time." I said, "No, that's not what happened at all." I told them exactly what happened. I mentioned that there was a witness and that they could check the police report if they didn't believe me. Then, he said, "Well, she did say that it was her fault."
Your entry looks quite festive, yet restrained. The inside of our house is decorated to the hilt, but the outside is a lot less than it used to be. The weather has a lot to do with it, since Ken uses a cane now, and taking down the decorations after the holidays can be a hassle---usually snowy and icy.
I think Mike is nodding approval. He gave the Library so many of our decorations, that I was thinking of him as we were decorating.:good-job:Mom
