I don't know what kind of bird this is, but I thought the yellow breast was quite impressive. I had a bunch of these birds in my yard a few minutes ago. I had to take the pictures through the window and the blinds, because they would surely have flown away if I had opened the back door. I feel badly that I haven't gotten on the stick and gotten a bird feeder so I could feed the poor birdies this winter. I'm ordering one today and using a gift card to gardeners.com that I got for Christmas. Below is what it looks like.

Think the bird is a Meadow Lark. Can't tell for sure but think is in that family. Like the bird feeder. This is the first year since we've been on the farm that I haven't fed the birds. I felt like I was setting up a cat feeding station. SIGH If it gets really awful out I'll probably feed them. I'm really missing my Cardinals, Titmouse, and finches. We got lots of varieties of Woodpeckers and so many others too. The Blue Jays come in on the porch and steal Zeb's dog food!
The bird feeder will be a nice addition to your garden. The birds had ignored the feeder I put in the front yard by my office until this week. Now I'm filling it up every day. Luckily there are no outdoor cats in our neighborhood.
Yes, they are meadow larks, for sure. They have an interesting two-note song, too. I like the feeder you ordered. :sunny:
I like the bird feeder..........I also like the garlic flowers.
Bird feeders create a lot of entertainment
How lucky you are to have meadow larks stopping by. they are a shy bird.:love::love:Mom
We used to see meadowlarks a lot more often than we do now. I always liked them, and their song.
I haven't seen any meadowlarks since I was a little girl -- but I still remembered & knew them instantly. How lucky you are, to have them living near you, with their sweet songs!
