Well, I guess it's official now. Spring is indeed coming. My very first daffodil of the season was trying to make its entrance today. Didn't quite make it completely, but it'll finish the job tomorrow I bet. It's a double daff and it's been my experience that they're a lot heavier than regular daffodils and mine last year sort of sagged a lot because of their weight. If I'd known that when I bought them I would have bought all regulars. But hey, they're beautiful too.
Oh, and by the way, today was Alice's birthday. I think it was a good one.

My dearest darling said to me today "But Gill, you see daffodils every spring why so excited about them this year?!" I don't know why but I am!!

Your beat mine to bloom by quite a bit and I'm just down the block. I do have some buds, though. And yes, my birthday was a good one... and being with you made it much nicer. :love:

I've discovered that since we had all the rain last spring, that the bulbs are a little more robust this year. I have a beautiful stand of deep purple iris with many blooms on each. Perhaps their stalks will be a little more sturdy this year.
