Well, I'm wondering if the spider is very patient . . . or just dead. He's not moved in 4 days. Tomorrow if he's still in the same position, I may just poke something in his web just enough to make him move . . . if he's alive.

UPDATE: To answer Gill's question . . . He scampered to the corner of his web when I stuck a flower right next to him. I'm glad he's alive and not dead.

  • If I hear a shriek tomorrow I'll know what has happened!! :lookaround:

  • Yikes!  He doesn't look shriveled up or like he is dead to me....be careful...I hate spiders! ...

  • There is one just like this above the walkway to our doctor's office.   But the wind is up and if we have a little thunderstorm, it might drive him inside someplace.   Then he'll have to rebuild his web all over again.   I hope this one catches lots of mosquitos.

  • 4 days and not moving! Either that is one very patient spider or it has died. But it does not look dead so be carefull if you try to disturb it

  • Inquiring minds want to know what happened with the web poking experiment?? :p

  • Spider  pics are great.  I like spiders, but everyone else in the family considers them personal enemies and kills each one sighted.  I hang bath rugs over the rib on the bathtub so they can make their way to freedom.  I don't even take down the summer webs until knat season is over (unless they are very evident)  I would much rather have a discreet spider and web than those annoying gnats, that can get in right through the screens on a summer night.
