  • Candy Days 2002

Well, this was the week end for our family’s Candy Days this year.  My sister, my mother and I had a wonderful time and made a ton of candy as well.  My niece couldn’t make it this year; we wondered if she just couldn’t face dipping another pretzel.

This is a picture of my sister and mom discussing how well the making of the cashew clusters is going.

The dining room was the storing place for the finished candy. . .

. . that is until we ran out of room and had to put the rest in the library around the Christmas tree.

By the end we were all dragging our tails a little bit, but all in all we had a blast.  This is when we have our “post mortem” to discuss what worked and what didn’t and how we could improve the process next year. It’s best to do this immediately, because the more time that passes the harder it is to remember why we wrote some of the notes that we kept scribbling on the “master” candy list all during the process.

  • Hello, Chris!  Nice to meet you.  I saw the link on Alice’s site, and I’m glad I checked you out.  Your home is LOVELY and the idea of making candy together each year is really sweet.  LOL  oops.

God bless you and your family.  Take care.

  • …great pics, Chris, and we get to see more of your new house. Love your kitchen window and what a beautiful fireplace!
…the first pic must have been early on in the process, Alice is smiling. Quite a contrast to the last pic. I imagine you all were tuckered out – so much candy. Don’t know how you Mother does it. YUM! It all looks delicious! Love and energy, MuSe
