  • House in Broadway . . . in the Cotswolds . . . Photo and enhancement by Chris Duffy

You know it dawned on me at work today that what you SEE depends an awful lot on the monitor you’re using.  The picture of the street in Lechlade (April 14th posting) looked really great on my monitor at home, but it looks very dark and forboding on my monitor at work.  Pitty too.  I’ll try to remember that and not use very dark images.

When I took the picture above of this house, I was tempted to walk up and move the bicycle out of the picture and then put it back after I had taken my shot, but I was afraid the home owner would come out and bonk me on the head with her rolling pin.  Now, I’m kind of glad I didn’t move the bike. . . it’s growing on me.  Besides they use bikes a lot over in England, and this picture just reminds me of that.

  • I didn’t notice the bike until you mentioned it.  I like it there.  The house on the river is absolutely amazing!  My monitor is about shot.  The pictures look much darker on it than on my husband’s computer.

  • It looks great on my monitor. I love that house.

  • I like the bicycle in it, it gives it a bit of I know there is life somewhere in this house look.

Monitors are different, the size makes a difference also.  I have helped friends and my sisters a lot with their computers and know from going to familiar sites how different they can be.  I run a 17 inch and a 20 inch both all of the time.  A bit difference in the text also, how it shows up.

    Have a great weekend.   :sunny:

  •  :goodjob:I think the bike makes the whole photo more charming and interesting. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. :heartbeat:

  • I almost bought a print that had a bicycle leaning against the side of a building. It adds character.
All the photos look good on my monitor. :sunny:

  • Your pics are great! Thank you for sharing your trip to England with us!!

  • I’m not bothered by the bike at all.  It’s old world meets new world.  Very interesting!  And thanks for sharing your adventures!   wink

  • I agree with the comments about the bike……it lends charm. I love the picture! Keep ‘em coming.

  • Bravo! What a great photo. The little wedge of sky over the little roof over the doorway makes for a very unusual perspective that draws one into the photo.

By the way, the bike fits in quite well.

  • I’m just getting caught up on your photos. They are great.

  •  :) The picture looks great with or without the bike, looks great on my monitor too  :goodjob:

  • I’ve got a common or garden HP monitor and the pics look great. I have a Dell one in my shop and things definitely look darker on it. The laptop is hopeless….
