  • Me Parasailing in Puerto Vallarta                               Photo by Mike Duffy

Did I ever tell you that I went Parasailing when we vacationed in Puerto Vallarta some years ago?  I did, and it scared me spitless, but I did it anyway.  Hubby did it two hours earlier than I did and it took me that long to work up the courage.  I had intended to get some terrific pictures from such a lofty view, but once up there, I was holding on to the bars for dear life.  I can’t think of anything that would have made me think it might be worth taking my hands off the bars, although, they do have you strapped in and it supposedly would take a contortionist to actually fall out of the harness.  It was a beautiful view and a wonderful experience, but I’m glad I don’t have to prove that to myself again.

And here I am about to come in for a landing.  The way they swing you around behind that boat with all that centrifical force, I was SURE I was going to smash into the front of the hotel, but in all actuality I was not even close to it.  My heart was going lickity split.

  • Amazing. They do that here. I’ve always wanted to have a go but thought I might feel sea sick up there, also frightened. I dunno.  I admire you!  Tell me more of how it felt.

  •  :goodjob: You are braver than I. Some years ago after riding an inner tube behind a boat and getting a whip lash injury that had me in pain for two years, I swore off doing anything for fun with that kind of potential for getting hurt. :nono:

  • It looks like fun, but I’m too afraid to do it.  Once we saw people parasailing at Myrtle Beach in a thunder-storm.

  • The most exhilirating thing I’ve ever done is white-water rafting in Colorado! I’m sure that parasailing would be more than I could handle! I don’t like heights! The empire State Bldg. on a VERY windy day took my breath away

  • Out sailing this morning (I’m between boats right now, just waiting and I’m a computer addict) we saw a kite boarder doing twists and turns. You would have liked it!  All the boats were slowing down to watch him.

  • My mother loved Puerto Vallarta.  You man not remember a group called Blue Horizons.  They were a group who owned their own jet and would fly to vacation spots.  As they were a smaller group, I had my doubts about the safety of the plane.  Mom did manage to always return, alive.

I am here on business today as well as stopping by to read your blog which tells me you are a courageous and outgoing sport.

I have begun a new blog ring for seniors.  Begun as a motivator for seniors to recall their value to the society they are a large part of.  Seniors have a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge stored inside them.  Those of us on computers have available to us, the medium to share the knowledge.  No matter your expertise, education, race, religion, sex, sexual preference,  if you are a senior, you will be a valued member of this blog ring.  Please consider clicking on ~*~Old People,
    Platinum Treasures Of Society~*~
to join this ring, which will become, I believe, an invaluable addition to the blogging in Xanga blog rings.
Personally, I feel I still have that certain something I am willing to share.  Join and share with me in my new blog ring.    I believe we can be an amazing group.  Join the group and help me to make it exactly that, amazing.
