  • Blue Salvia at Arbor Hills Nature Reserve             Photo and enhancement by Chris Duffy

Well, I have another house to go check out for the kids tomorrow.  I've really liked some of the ones they've had me check out.  And best of all, they've all been within 2 or 3 miles of our house.  Can't beat that!  It would be so nice to be able to drive 10 minutes to see them rather than 5 hours.  This one I'm looking at tomorrow looks rather promising from the web shots.  It has black granite counter tops in the kitchen.  Boy, is that a far cry from the first house my husband and I bought way back when.

I spent about 45 minutes tonight pulling weeds while Mike mowed and edged the back yard.  He wanted to get it done tonight because it's supposed to rain tomorrow and the grass is really hard to mow when it's wet.  I may transplant some more sedum in the back behind the fence if the ground gets a good soaking tonight.  It's much easier to work in after a good rain.

Quote of the day: Families are like fudge . . . mostly sweet, with a few nuts.

  • I so wish my kids were closer....my grandchildren are in MN and I am in CA...

  • I think we are going to have to water the grass and gardens tomorrow. We only have a slight chance of rain... only on Monday. It is good you got those things done before the weekend. Now you can do something fun.
    This photo is very nice.
Have fun house hunting. Granite counter tops, ooooh, nice.

  • much cooler too We are supposed to get a rain tonight, too.

  • I hope you can get them close to you. It really is nice that mine are withing 10 minutes.

  • One son and family is 10 minutes away, and the other is 4 hrs.  Am happy at least some of them are nearby.  Even 4 hrs. is too far anymore!! :(

Your flower pictures are so pretty. Makes me want even more flowers. Kinda late now.  Hopefully, next year.

I like your quote---sounds like our extended family!!

  • Been there, got that tee shirt with the family quote...lol. Isn't Sedum great. Around here it is also called n "never die" plant....translated that means I can't kill it! I have two in my perennial bed that are perfectly round...about the size of a medicine ball....until they start to bloom.

  •  :cry:I know what it's like to have my family far away from me.... thus I am really happy for you that your's will be so close!

Love seeing pictures of your yard and garden, it always makes me feel like I'm a guest in your home....  :giggle:

It always seems to me that I have more than the average number of nuts in my fudge(family)!!!

  • Is "Blue Salvia" really Bluebonnets?  Sure looked familiar!  And for the record, our family is ALL nuts!

  • To answer MD64's question. No, blue salvia and blue bonnets are not the same flower.  Blue salvia are much taller than blue bonnets.
