House in Eureka Springs, AR Photo and enhancement by Chris Duffy
It’s amazing that I got this picture at all. Alice and I had been walking up and down the streets of Eureka Springs taking pictures of all the Victorian homes and our feet were killing us. We got in the car to drive to the next neighborhood and saw this house. I was too tired to stop the car and get out so we both took our pictures through the open window. I wasn’t even fully stopped as I was in the middle of the street. The picture was a little tilted and I had to straighten it and crop it on the computer, but I kind of like it. Some of my favorite shots are ones that I don’t think will really turn out well, for one reason or another.
Thought of the day: Time may be a great healer, but it’s a lousy beautician.

very cool picture.
) and snapped a few. I was quite happy with the shots…
Yes, I did something like that at Niagara Falls.
I got a few really good pics, even though it was pouring rain… then as we left in the car, going over the bridge into New York I just held the camera up and out the car window (I wasnt driving
This house is beautiful. well done.
love that quote, Chris :giggle: One of my favorite shots on last years trip was one of that gate, as well. Mine is more of a close up. I was surprised, too, when we looked at them that evening, that I could get such a good picture from a moving car.
You did a good job on the picture. :sunny:
what a beautiful house. :coolman:
Beautiful house!!
I like your hiking pictures too….hiking is exercise too (of course the gym is heated in the winter, air conditioned in the summer…and our Y has a whirl pool!)
What must the residents think of two ladies going up and down the street taking pictures of their houses?!?
I am surprised they don’t come outside and ask you just what you are doing! :giggle:
:sunny:
Alice and you are really excellent inspired photographers .

I like that picture! Also loved the gate and the salvia and the hike, oh OK all of them.
Who took the picture of you two together on that trail?
That house (especially the wrought iron fence) makes me think of one thing. That would be a great place to live, just to set up a fantastic Halloween display! As for taking photos out the window of a moving vehicle, I used to do that when I drove a truck. Photos taken at highway speed in a bouncy truck do not turn out well, I have boxes and boxes of pictures to prove it. But like you, I can use a photo program on my computer to ‘clean’ them up a bit. But that means I have to go up into the attic to get those pictures.
When we travel, my husband won’t stop for me to take a picture, so I frequently take them out the car window. I love the quote!
Great pic.
I just stopped by to tell you that you were right. I did enjoy eating more when I was cooking something worthwhile.
When is this trip Alice and yourself are taking?
I’ve never got a picture from a moving car that I really liked. I usually get good quality, but lousy composition. Great job on this one.
