  • At Wild Seed Farm outside Fredericksburg, TX                               Photo by Chris Duffy

GOTTCHA!  It was just a matter of time.  I had been trying, but with little success, to get some good pictures of butterflies as they sat on flowers our whole trip. Then when Alice and I came to the Wild Seed Farm outside of Fredericksburg, Texas I just KNEW I’d get a good shot. There were butterflies everywhere, drawn by all the colorful flowers, so my chances of getting one to sit still long enough for me to snap them were exponentially better than out in the wild. Also, these butterflies didn’t seem quite as skiddish as the ones out in the countryside either.  Evidentally they are used to people at the Seed Farm. Still, it took me 8 shots before I got one where they all had their wings spread out.  They are soooo incredibly beautiful.

  • I’m in love with all the photos you have posted.  All of them are wonderful and that of you and your sister, If I looked that good, I think any split rail fence worth its salt would be happy to have you sit on it and stay strong in the doing.

    Regards,

  • You take such nice pictures.  What size zoom do you have (optical)?

  • So beautiful! Well worth your efforts (I see in the last entry you do get down to get some of these. Iv’e often wondered when I see pics that are from low down like that). And to get three butterflies together like this is just super.
