Busy Bee at Enchanted Rock in Texas Hill Country Photo & enhancement by Chris Duffy
This picture was also taken at Enchanted Rock. We didn’t see nearly as many bees as we did butterfly, but I caught this busy little guy gathering his pollen quota. We saw plenty of ants too. One rock we passed actually looked as though it was red . . . until you looked closer and saw that it was a gray rock covered with thousands of red ants.
Quote of the day: Bees work for man, and yet they never bruise their Master’s flower, but leave it having done, as fair as ever and as fit to use; So both the flower doth stay and honey run.

Its a girl bee
Pretty.
This picture and the one below are just beautiful! I like the painting effect you gave them. :goodjob:
Is the bee pic. like the butterfly in that you didn’t get too close? Am looking forward to the other pics. :sunny: :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:Mom
:sunny: Beautiful! Years ago we were hiking with our 2 oldest boys (as the younger boy and girl weren’t even thought of yet) when we came across a juniper bush that looked like it was covered in little red flowers/pods….it was thousands upon thousands of ladybugs!
To answer mom’s question (LolaMC) . . . no, I actually did get that close to the bee. They are not nearly as flighty as butterflies are. But I could have done that picture the same way as the butterfly one if the bee had not wanted to cooperate.
Had I been with you the ants would not have stayed on the rock! Were these fire ants to which you refer?
I like that. :goodjob: I don’t think I took nearly as many bees and butterfly pictures as you did on our trip. Perhaps because I see plenty of those in my garden at home. I sure am enjoying going through my photos in the evenings after I do my ditch digging for the day. :sunny: I haven’t done the text yet for the web page about our trip that I will eventually do. I better before I forget where we went and what we did.
I always love the way that you enhance your pictures…….this one is no exception.
