Butterfly at Wild Seed Farm in Fredericksburg, TX Photo & enhancement by Chris Duffy
Well, I don’t know about all of the rest of you, but I’m really glad this election is finally over and that President Bush has won another term. I can’t remember a meaner, nastier and more vicious presidential campaign. Will they ever be civil again?
On to a more pleasant subject. You know, it’s getting close to Candy Days time and this year my daughter-in-law is going to join us. I’m so excited about that. It’ll give her a chance to get better acquainted with Alice and mom and them with her. I tried to talk Mike into driving to San Antonio for that week end, so he could spend it with our son rather than being under foot here, but he hasn’t gone for that idea yet. We’ll be so busy making chocolate candy that he’ll be on his own and virtually ignored . . . poor baby.
This year we MUST be sure to read our post mortem from last year BEFORE we start making the candy. We’ll no doubt “document” the week end with pictures and Xanga posts. Candy Days will take place Dec 3rd, 4th and 5th this year. But I’m getting ahead of myself . . . we still have Thanksgiving to go, before we get to Candy Days.

I’m glad your daughter-in-law will be joining us this year, too. I wish JK wanted to, but she is all wrapped up with her cats.
I’d love for you to tell me how to increase my font. Others have commented the same thing. but I have so little computer knowledge and xanga setting knowledge that I haven’t a clue!
First of all thanks for coming by the Edge and commenting. We warm weather buffs have to stick together. All this talk of the wonderful cold weather and how we will now get to wear winter clothes is just not how I feel. LOL
I see another of your commenters this morning, missbev, wants to increase the size of her font. I am wanting to do that too, but on my other journal site. It seems as soon as I master one thing about this computer stuff, something else pops up to challenge me. I dunno. Maybe that’s why I like it.
Your butterfly pic is wonderful!
Ava
What a beautiful butterfly picture! :goodjob: That saying on your daughter’s t-shirt, “But I couldn’t be overdrawn; I still have checks”, sounds like my son. You’re candy making days sound like so much fun!
:goodjob:Beautiful butterfly. I can’t imagine that Ccandy Days are this close.Love you Mom :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:
Beautiful photo, looks like a watercolor.
All the blogging I did for Bush and you never let it out.
I enjoyed your site, your photos are spectacular! :goodjob: What kind of digital camera do you have? I have a little sony cybershot, I sold my canon eos elan to get this one, but I miss the photography aspect which I lost out on when I went digital.
I have been having a time posting a comment on your site. My IE just goes crazy. Tonight may be my lucky time to tell you how much I have been enjoying your pictures and your posts. Look forward to candy time again. I remember Alice’s description of last year
…beautiful pic, Chris!!! :goodjob:
…i too am glad the election if OVER. :whocares:
…oh yes, Candy Days, I love the pics and text Alice and you post during the creation. I drool shamelessly. I gather this year it’s happening at your house. I’m with Mike, I wouldn’t want to miss all the samples either. :fun: :sunny: :spinning: MuSe
PS:…please don’t beat yourself up over the trial verdict. You did your best given the info you had and that is what a jury is suppose to do. The prosecution did a terrible job and disservice to the county he was elected to serve. Arrangements should have been made to have the Aunt appear, such as picking her up.
…another thing juries are not aware of if a “Life Sentence” is NOT a “Life Sentence”. It varies by state as to how many years served a convicted Lifer can petetion for parole, in some states it’s ten years. M
To answer MissBev and AvaSouth’s question as to how to enlarge the default text in your blogs . . (I had to ask Alice, because she did it for me)
If you are using a skin for your public page, you change the font size using the style tag within the head of the html document. like this:
td {font-family:Arial; font-size: medium; color:#000000;} .titlebar {font-family:Arial; font-size: medium; color:#333366; font-weight: bold;}.postbody {font-family:Arial; font-size: medium; color:#000000;} To change the font size on your private page and on the comment page (and also for the public page if you are not using skins and don’t have premium) you go to the “look and feel” under Edit in the left column of your xanga page. When you get to “look and feel” page, under “Fonts, Text, and Links in Main Body of Page” choose a font face and size in the first option. The 4 is one size larger than standard.
The style tags did not come through on the comment, Chris. Xanga strips them. The style tag which looks like a normal html tag ( I can’t reproduce it in the comment box) goes before and after the code as it is presented in your comment. Then that goes within the head tags.
I like the photo. It looks like a painting.
I am very very glad Bush won too.
Beautiful photo and enhancement. Lucky you to have such loving family. :heartbeat:
