  • Road to Roaring River State Park              Photo & enhancement by Chris Duffy

Well, BUMMER !!!  I took the time yesterday to go over to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve about 5 miles from my house so I could get some good fall color pictures.  I took about 35 pictures as I took my mile and a half walk and then another 10 on the way home from the park.   But when I was downloading them to my computer . . . I’m not sure what happened.  Only 5 of the park got downloaded, and those 5 are ones I took as I neared the car on the parking lot.  Not very exciting. All of the pictures I took on the way home are there, just not the ones I made the trip for.  I think I took some pretty good shots of the creek that runs through the park; it wasn’t just a trickle.  Because of all the rain we’ve had lately it was running full and swift.  But, alas, I’ll never know just how good they were, because they are nowhere to be found on either the memory card or my hard drive.

The only possibly explanation I can think of is that I may have pulled the card out of the reader before it was through writing them all to my hard drive.  And I have learned that it does write them to my hard drive in reverse order, so that’s why the last pictures I took are there but not the good ones from the park.  Oh, well, we live and learn.

  •  :goodjob:That is one of the most beautiful pictures of Fall Foliage that I have ever seen, and your Father had some that were hard to beat!He would be so proud of you.  :heartbeat: :heartbeat:Mom

  • Happy Thanksgiving and I think this photo is super.  We could have used a fall like that.  Ours is long gone now, only bare trees although some that look on the order of crab apple trees have yellow foliage on them and tiny dried apples still hanging on.

  • Total bummer!! But that is a beautiful photo……..I agree with your Mom. Your Dad would be proud of you.

  •  …WoW – what gorgeous colour!!! Outstanding photo/enhancement, Chris!  :goodjob:
…thanks for the lesson, through you I’ll remember to wait. MuSe

  • What a shame you lost all those shots. If you are like me, it’s always hard to remember things without photos. The picture of Roaring River is great, though.  :heartbeat:

  • That is an absolutely gorgeous picture!!  We had a nice Fall, but the color wasn’t as good as it usually is.

Liked your cute poem.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

  • That is a bummer!  At least, you got this great shot!  :goodjob:  One day my husband was “helping” my daughter download pictures that she had spent a day taking around Ga. Tech campus, and he erased all of them!
